INSTALL OVER AN EXISTING CONCRETE PAD
Installing FlexCourt tiles over an existing concrete pad is the most common and recommended DIY installation method. Concrete is preferred, but asphalt or another base are options. A properly prepared slab provides a stable, long-lasting foundation and allows the modular tiles to snap together quickly and securely.
Key considerations include:
- Proper slab thickness and reinforcement
- Adequate slope to allow for water drainage
- Light to medium broom finish for optimal tile grip
- Planning for basketball hoops, net systems, or other accessories
What You'll Need to get started
FlexCourt’s snap-together tile system is designed to install without specialty tools or complicated equipment. Most DIY installations can be completed using basic tools commonly found in a home garage or maintenance shop.
To install an outdoor court or indoor floor, all you’ll need is a tape measure, a chalk line, and gloves.
How much can I save by doing the work myself?
Custom installation starts at $1,200 and can exceed $5,000. So, if you’re willing to do it yourself, you can save.
What kind of surface do I need?
You may already have a concrete surface you can use. If not, our concrete spec sheet will tell you what you need. Concrete is preferred, but asphalt or another base are options.
